Experience Halaal joins the Gourmet offering at the Gourmet SA Show. The show, which runs from 28-31 May at the CTICC, is committed to showcasing halaal food and beverages. Statistics confirm that 25% of the Western Cape's population are Muslim, hence there is a large target market with a passion for good food and lifestyle.

With increasing global awareness of the high standards that halaal certification commands, the international halaal market will grow in leaps and bounds. Halaal food is wholesome, pure and doesn't contain any toxins, so consumers can embrace halaal food because it can be eaten by anyone, including vegetarians, from all religious backgrounds.

The response to Experience Halaal from Muslim businesses as well as the Muslim community has been extremely positive, with Muslim media including the two dominant radio stations actively involved. Retailers including Checkers, Lazat Muslim Cooking, Meezan & Shereens Montessori, Cape Malay Consultants, Cape Malay Cultural Heritage Tourism Commission and Spice Mecca have shown interest.
